How Did Easy Home Based Business Claims Become So Popular?

Have you ever wondered why so many businesses are advertising their opportunity as an easy home based business? Perhaps you’ve asked yourself if it is so easy, then why isn’t everybody doing it? That question seems to be the most popular question asked by the naysayers in the marketplace. Naysayers are the people who always have a reason or an excuse not to do something. In the case of an easy home based business, I would have to agree with the naysayers and here’s why.

Easy home based business ads have been popularized not by companies, but by the demand of people. If you really look at the majority of advertising today, regardless of the product, it all shouts out convenience. You see, our society is driven by easiness and a something for nothing mentality. We are living in a time where people want things, and they want them now. Nobody wants to wait for results and very few are willing to work hard for results.

Why Promote An Easy Home Based Business If It’s Not Really Easy?

The easy home based business ads are the equivalent of the magic diet pill that allows you to shed the pounds effortlessly. Realistically, what do you think the percentage is for people that have real success with anything claiming it can be done effortlessly? If you’re guessing pretty low, you’re right. Yet, every day people respond and buy into these ads hoping for a miracle to happen.

If you are setting up a marketing campaign for your product or service, what is the first thing you do? You ask yourself what would be most appealing to your target audience. In other words, you are looking for an attention grabber. Since most of the population is looking for a quick fix, or an easy solution to their problem, why should making money be any different? Promoting an easy home based business is simply a way to appeal to the demands of an audience looking for an easy solution to their money problem.  Easy is what people want, plain and simple.

How To Avoid The Easy Home Based Business Bait

First, you seriously need to consider your personal motivation for wanting a business, or more importantly, an easy home based business. If you are looking for an overnight solution to your cash flow problem, you will be sorely disappointed. Overnight success is rare in any field. If you are looking to gain much without giving much, again, you are bordering on the impossible. That would be like hoping to win lottery when you haven’t even bought a ticket. I am not suggesting you invest in the lottery either, as that is really chasing a fantasy. When you chase fantasies poverty awaits you.

Next, you should evaluate the risk and reward ratio. Usually, if there is little risk involved, the reward is little too. This does not mean that the monetary investment needs to be massive in order for your return to be significant. However, if the investment is so low that you can make a decision without even thinking about it, it typically means you will have to work harder or longer to yield a substantial return. Also, with little investment or little risk, it is much easier to procrastinate or do nothing at all. If there is no risk involved, the value decreases, and more people take less action. When the risk is higher, it will hurt more if you fail, which forces you to take the necessary action. Any opportunity that lists itself as an easy home based business usually means low risk opportunity. A low risk opportunity can be reduced to the idea of “no pain, no gain.”

If you are truly seeking a real business that you can make money with, ignore the idea that an easy home based business exists. Yes, people are succeeding in home businesses every day, not because they are easy. People succeed because they are willing to put the time and effort into building a business, and are willing to develop needed skills. Easy is a fantasy, and if you sow into fantasies you will reap failure and frustration.
